ITAC WS-Guardian® has been designed to enable any organization to centrally manage the security policies and govern their SOA architecture and to fix most common problems: services inventory , version control, impact analysis on the implementation of security policies, security and documentation.
In this context, ITAC WS-Guardian® has the following features:
Management of cache reloading for each service
ITAC WS-Guardian® llows you to reload in the cache the WSDL and the XSD of a Web service that has been updated or had any changes.
Real-time services monitoring
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to monitor a service that is being consumed by one or more clients.
Impact analysis notification
ITAC WS-Guardian® provides a comprehensive view of the existing impact analysis on a policy or service, in case that modifications were made on some of its components.
Taxonomies management for services classification
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to create and manage taxonomies to organize the services according to the logical relationship between them. ITAC WS-Guardian® accomplishes this through the use of primary taxonomies and secondary taxonomies or so called sub-taxonomies, where each service is associated with a primary and zero or more secondary taxonomies. These taxonomies are created in order to facilitate the search and categorization of the registered services.
Automatic log level configuration depending on the environment (development / production)
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to set the desired mode of operation depending on the required management for the application.
In the development mode, it provides a detailed message that explains why the request made by a client that invoked a guarded service by ITAC WS-Guardian® was rejected. This is independent of the log or audit level stored in the solution.
Production mode provides only a basic message, that does not explain the reason for the request's rejection, which makes it ideal for a production environment, as for the security of who invokes a guarded service by ITAC WS-Guardian®, the reason or policy for which its invocation was rejected shall not be explained.
Create, update and check existing services in the ESB
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to manage the Web services that will be consumed by clients, offering user type assignment features: Contact or responsible; their configuration within the appropriate taxonomy, service dependencies and other additional properties.
Similarly, ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to manage the consumed services through a socket connextion, ie, a connection that is made through an IP address and a port, whether they are local or remote, in order to have a communication channel, through which the services will recieve requests as in this case. They can be protocols such as TCP and UDP.
Configuration of custom properties for services
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to manage custom properties for each service. As an additional description of the service, it can be shown, for example, its language, functional restrictions, the system that exposes the functionality, among others.
Assignment of properties related to WS-* standards
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to manage the standards to which the published services adhere, these contribute to the structured and consistent categorization of Web services
Assignment of properties related to non-functional requirements of services
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows you to manage those service's non-functional requirements that can be associated with security, encryption, transactional, service levels, service's performance metrics, data packet sizes, minimum and maximum response times, CPU cost, memory of a service invocation, and so on.
Assignment of policies according to the life-cycle status of the service request
ITAC WS-Guardian® allows to manage those policies that may be linked with previously registered services, in order to add improved governance across their life-cycle.
